Kingfisher River Guides has a strict conservation policy. We practice catch and release on every trip. Cameras are carried so a photo opportunity is not lost. Our only exception is if we catch an illegally introduced species. If the law allows, it will be dispatched immediately.

We use barbless hooks and require clients to pinch their barbs also. Ketchum Release tools, soft, fish friendly nylon or rubber nets are another way we ensure a proper release. Also, using the proper rod weight for the situation is another good practice. For example, a two weight on a large fish in a big river with a strong current is unacceptable. Even the split shot we use is non-toxic.

We do everything we can to preserve the environment in which we are lucky enough to work. Thank you for your understanding.
